Give away free information to boost your affiliate commissions

Giving away information is a great way to boost your affiliate commissions. People love to get something for free. You can use the “free information” tool several different ways in order to increase your affiliate sales. We have free content here at AffiliatesFun that you can give away. For instance, why not take several of the articles and create an ecourse or special report?

Another idea is to add a freebie when people buy through your affiliate link. Cosmetics companies are famous for this. They offer a customer a “free gift” if you spend a certain amount. People will buy things they had no intention of buying, just to get the free gift. Like the cosmetics companies, you can also offer information as a free bonus after a purchase has been made through your affiliate link. Ask the buyer to send you a receipt, as to make sure that their order has gone through.

If you are not sure what to offer, take a look at the product you are promoting and think about what the consumer would find helpful. If you are promoting Mini Course Money, perhaps you can offer a bonus article with suggested mini course topics. You can also write a quick tips guide to help the person "consume" the product. As an example, Natural Mom Business Guide is a huge product. If you're a customer, why not give someone some pointers on how best to review it?

Offering free information up front can help you build your mailing list. If you stay in contact with your mailing list and give them information they find helpful, they will trust you and will be more likely to buy from you.

Try offering e-courses on topics relating to the products you are promoting. For instance, if your target market is parents that stick to tight budgets, and you would like to promote an e-book that explains how families can save money on vacations, offer an e-course that gives a little information on the subject. Send an email each day with a “lesson” or “tip” from the e-book. Make sure you let your subscribers know that if they want to learn even more, they can purchase the book.

Once your subscribers have received all the lessons from your e-course, keep sending them periodic “drip” emails; you don’t want to bombard them with messages every day, but you do want to stay in contact with them. You can also promote other budget-friendly travel products to this mailing list, such as discount airline tickets, hotels, luggage, and more.

Since you already know that the subscribers of this list are interested in saving money on vacations, perhaps they are interested in other money saving topics. Create more e-courses about budgeting and send them the links to sign up for those courses. Use the emails you send in those courses to promote other products.

It doesn’t matter what product you are promoting, or whether it is a tangible product or a digital one. You cannot give too much information away. Using information to explain the product you are using, its features, and the benefits the customer will receive once they purchase the product will only help to increase your affiliate sales and commissions.
